Higher education – more than just a qualification
A Higher Education qualification can lead to many benefits, including a prosperous career with financial security.
Completing a higher qualification allows you to expand your current knowledge, whilst learning completely new skills and gaining more experience, as well as increasing your employment opportunities by developing the meta-skills that employers ask for.
At Borders College, we offer a range of Higher National Certificate and Diploma provision (HNC/HND), along with Professional Development Awards (PDA) and Graduate Apprenticeships.
Our HN portfolio includes courses in Coaching and Developing Sport, Travel and Tourism, Social Services, Hospitality, Art & Design, Graphic Design, Electrical Engineering and many more.
Our PDA offer includes Acute and Community Care, Childhood Practice, Developing Professional Practice, Dyslexia and Education Support Assistance.
And those in employment can study for a degree in Business Management on a part-time basis through our Graduate Apprenticeship programme.
Completing your higher education qualification will lead to many opportunities and help open doors to employment within your area of study, with many employers recognising the skills and benefits these qualifications can bring to the workplace.
Some universities accept HNC/HND qualifications directly into year 3 at university and as an advanced standing for some of their degree provision. Therefore, after completing your HND at Borders College, you may be able to go into year 3 at university.
