The Modern Apprenticeship in Construction - Carpentry & Joinery includes Practical Skill Development, Theory and Associated Subjects, Health & Safety and on-site work experience to build a portfolio of evidence.

Delivery
4 years day release - 2 days per week, 36 weeks per year.
(2 years for mature students)

Candidates must be employed and working in a suitable environment to be able to provide evidence of their competence in the workplace.
Course Content
The Modern Apprenticeship in Carpentry & Joinery comprises of 10 mandatory units and 1 optional unit. The units cover the following areas: Confirm Work Activities and Resources for the Work, Develop and Maintain Good Working Relationships, Confirm the Occupational Method of Work, Conform to General Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare, Produce Setting Out Details for Routine Products, Manufacture Routine Products, Manufacture Bespoke Products, Set Up and Use Fixed Machinery, and Carpentry and Joinery Skills Test. The 1 optional unit can be chosen from a range of options suited to the work place.
