This course is designed to give a general introduction to the forestry industry in the local area. Forestry is a growth area at the moment with plentiful employment opportunities. Scotland's woodlands are a vital national resource and play an important role in rural development and sustainable land use. Thoughtfully integrated into your rural business, forestry offers many economic and environmental benefits.

SVQ in Trees and Timber at SCQF Level 5
Delivery
36 weeks with a mixture of on campus teaching and extended work placement
Location
Entry requirements
Progression from the Level 5 Forestry NPA or Introduction to Countryside Skills or any other relevant course
Progression opportunities
Learners may progress onto a higher level course at SRUC Barony or join the MA scheme
Career Prospects
Employment on local estates or forestry companies with the option of apprenticeships
