The annual Open Day is an ideal opportunity to see what makes Borders College unique.
This year, the College will be welcoming everyone to its Galashiels and Newtown St Boswells campuses on Wednesday 20th March. You will have the chance to meet staff and students, explore the College’s fantastic facilities, and get a feel for the values that set the College apart.
You will see, first-hand, the great opportunities available to prospective students and get the chance to come along and speak with the people who make it happen. There are several exciting and informative events planned to ensure you get the best possible experience and have some fun along the way.
The Galashiels campus will be running many great activities, including construction demos, nail bars, a racing simulator, an EV demo rig, an art show, and guided tours. They will also showcase tech such as VR headsets and a racing simulator. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
The Newtown St Boswells Rural Skills campus will also be open to the public. Some great stuff will be on show, including the latest agriculture equipment and animal care facilities, not to mention horticulture, horse care, gamekeeping, and landscaping. Find out about courses, take a tour, and meet the animals—there will be lots to see!
As well as meeting students and speaking to the wonderful lecturers, you’ll get the chance to find out all about our curricular programme. Learn about the Sporting provision, see the Immersive Classroom in action, check out the new Esports facility, and see what Green Skills opportunities are available.
The brilliant Students’ Association team will be there to guide you around and offer help and advice, and staff providing information on support and funding will be happy to help.
Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) will be in attendance to provide advice to prospective students on education, career choices and support available.
Maybe you want to study full-time, undertake an apprenticeship, or do a community course. If so, take the next step in your career and find out what college life is all about by visiting the Open Day on Wednesday 20th March.
