Borders College is delighted to welcome Anne Marie Sturrock as the new Vice Principal for Student Experience.
As a passionate advocate of Further Education and the vast opportunities it offers students, the role will see Anne Marie continue the sector leading work already established at Borders College, with a key ambition is to continue ensuring and expanding the curriculum to maximise positive outcomes for students, staff, and stakeholders.
With an impressive record of working in education going back to 1998, Anne Marie has vast knowledge and experience in delivering a curriculum that meets the needs of students and the wider stakeholder community with a focused but quality-driven approach.
Working with national bodies on matters relating to Health and Social Care, Anne Marie joins us at a critical time as the workforce development needs within the sector are at a crucial stage as we start to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
Commenting on her appointment, Anne Marie said:
“I am looking forward to working at such a progressive college which is at the heart of the community, but I am also excited by the fact that Borders College is an active participant in the global learning and teaching space.
“My priorities will be to meet the students and staff at Borders College, as well as engage with the College’s stakeholders, and learn more about the diverse but exciting curriculum that is on offer from Borders College.
“With an excellent reputation on a regional and international level, I am thrilled to be joining the college at a key time for further education, and to help ensure that the work of developing student-friendly policies which support positive outcomes for our students continues.”
Born and raised in Ireland, Anne Marie lives in Dalkeith with her family and includes badminton, jogging and walking amongst her hobbies.
Taking over from the current Vice Principal, Heather Anderson, who has worked for the College for 36 years, Anne Marie will officially start at Borders College in May 2022.
