Students flourish at Floristry community course

A Floristry Evening Class, recently run by the college’s Department of Enterprise and Business Innovation, has been hailed as a huge success.

Students thoroughly enjoyed the six-week block, creating amazing floral arrangements such as buttonholes, table posies, gift bags, hand-tied bouquets, and creative designs using a range of different storage ideas.

Students who took part in the course said the following:

“Loved learning about how to make up arrangements and meeting others who also enjoyed this course.”

“The course was both informative and enjoyable, and it was lovely each week to have beautiful flower arrangements to take home. Our Tutor Natalia was really good at explaining things and her patience and support were greatly appreciated, and all done with a smile.”

“It was a very enjoyable course. Natalia was very good and would show me individually how to do a certain task if I wasn't sure after observing her do it. Nothing was too much bother. She was keen to share her knowledge and skills with everyone. The College admin staff were also excellent. In particular, Erin, as she dealt with a problem I had efficiently.”

“Natalia, the Tutor, was brilliant. She had such a lovely, engaging, and encouraging manner. Her experience shone through, and she was keen to pass on her knowledge. Over the weeks we were introduced to a variety of techniques, and I believe by the end of the course, we felt confident enough to try the techniques at home.

“To make things simpler and so that we were all working with the same materials, Natalia offered to provide a selection of flowers each week at an additional cost. The benefit of this for us was that we had flowers matched to the technique we were working on each week. The flowers were fresh and often lasted more than a week at home. Would highly recommend this course to others.”

“I loved this course. This course allowed us to totally relax and enjoy making new designs with flowers. Meeting new friends and coming away with some amazing flower displays that we made. Can’t wait till the next block.”

“Really good tutor, and a nice variety of skills learnt. Thank you.”

“Very enjoyable course.”

“Great fun!”

Such was the success of the course, plans are in place for further Floristry courses to run later in the year. Look out for further information.
