Strike Action – February 2024

important notice

EIS-FELA & Unison are the trade unions for lecturing and support staff at Borders College. As a result of a national pay dispute, they have asked their members across Scotland to undertake strike action on Thursday 29th of February.

We want to reassure you that the college will remain open and will provide learning for the majority of students. However, a minority of lessons could be disrupted. If a lesson is affected, please use our college library facilities to keep up-to-date with your college work.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to run classes at our Newtown St Boswells campus. Students who normally attend classes there are more than welcome to use our library service at Galashiels campus for their studies if they wish.

Should you be in receipt of a bursary and your lecturer is on strike, please be assured that this will not impact on your payments.

As always, keep up-to-date with your college work, and in particular any outstanding assessments, as these will be marked.
